Job Summary
Job Posting RefreshedProteomics and Metabolomics Core at AU has recently acquired a state-of-the-art equipment, Agilent Technologies 6470B Triple Quadrupole LC/MS and 1260 Infinity II Binary Pump in addition to our existing Q-TOF LC/MS and Orbitrab LC/MS technologies.A dedicated individual with appropriate expertise is required for running this top of the line instrument, data collection and data analyses. The core uses mass spectrometry as the key technology for qualitative and quantitative protein characterization and advanced methods for profiling and quantitation of small molecules. In this core position is also expected to do billing services through iLab system, budgeting and planning for the core, working with vendors to obtain discounted reagents, pricing services to ensure a profit will be obtained while keeping prices competitive with similar other Universities/Institutes available services. This position requires the knowledge of decent cell biology/molecular biology in addition to experience with LC/MS technologies. The job requires an ability of data analysis from these different types of experiments on these different platforms.

Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:Perform quality assessment on submitted samples.Prepare sequencing libraries for one of three platforms and one or more applications for sequencing. Configure barcodes for samples that are multiplexed and verify the concentrations and quality for libraries.Perform sequencing, monitor progress of the run.Perform data analysis including gene expression, chromosomal copy number alterations or rearrangements, mutations, miRNA expression and interaction with mRNA expression levels etc.Transfer data from server to shared campus box or to investigator's choice of destination.Perform billing, budgeting, reagent ordering, equipment maintenance and general lab maintenance.Contact technical supports to collect information/articles and consult for individual project requested by investigators.Perform all other related duties/tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and two years of experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory, particularly clinical trial research. OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned with a minimum of five years' research and/or clinical experience; previous supervisory experience.
