Position DescriptionThe HCOA seeks a dynamic and team-oriented Associate Dean for Research and Innovation to advance scholarly excellence and impact at a unique moment, shaping the future of the college. We seek a candidate who is genuinely collaborative-a team builder-in environments with overlapping authority, and who can provide intellectual and strategic management and growth of college research programs and faculty development processes.This candidate will support,evaluate, and maintain a robust culture of research and shepherd faculty through tenure and promotion processes in the college.The position is a 12-month, full-time appointment beginning September 1, 2025. The successful candidate will have the appropriate credentials to be a tenured associate or full professor in the college, support the deans administrative team and the strategic priorities of the HCOA.The Associate Dean for Research and Innovation will work to support and provide guidance to faculty research development while building and broadening existing collaborative and individual research efforts. These initiatives will advance the colleges continued emphasis on innovation and design excellence. The Associate Dean will serve as a departmental faculty member with a one-course load each semester and include the following administrative expectations:Advance the strategic objectives of the university by expanding our research profile, reach, and impact.Cultivate collective, open, and productive cultures within the college community by facilitating communication that values knowledge sharing and dialogue.Guide and support faculty members at different levels in actively pursuing internal and external funding opportunities including start-up funds for new tenure-track faculty.Support development of innovative and rigorous research trajectories and mentor faculty towards successful tenure and promotion processes.Facilitate research collaboration between faculty and students (e.g., undergraduate, masters, and doctoral).

Major/Essential Functions
In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.

Required Qualifications

A terminal degree in Architecture or in one of the following related disciplines (i.e., Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Urban/Planning, Geography, Geology, and/or Environmental Design).
Experience helping others develop and disseminate high impact research as evidenced in an academic or industry setting.
Leadership in positions advancing the wide range of established and emerging types of research and creative practices.
Record of identifying, securing, and administrating transformational funded research.
Articulation of a philosophy of research support.
Record of demonstrated accomplishments in research with a strong record of impact, collaboration, and/or external funding that advances architecture.
Record of demonstrated accomplishments and experience in teaching architecture design studios, seminars or lectures.
Experience supporting outreach and professional service to architecture and the built environment.
