What We Are Looking For

Baylor University is seeking a Research Compliance Specialist who will support all relevant activities in the Research Compliance Office, including protocol reviews and submissions (IRB & IACUC), conflict of interest (COI) disclosures, research-related agreements (MTA, NDAs, DTUAs, and reliance agreements), research-related HIPAA reviews, scientific misconduct, Responsible Conduct of Research, and reporting to external oversight agencies.

A Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant work experience are required. A Master's degree and five years of relevant work experience are preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.

The ideal candidate will possess a CIP, CPIA, or CHR licensure.

All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do
  • Ensure provision of excellent customer service to faculty, local research administrators, and sponsors in the ongoing administration of sponsored research by serving as an expert resource to the Baylor research community
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and processes to ensure compliance with applicable protocols, laws, and regulations including, but not limited to, Research Integrity (including misconduct investigations), Research Security, Responsible Conduct of Research, and Export Compliance
  • Coordinate and manage education and outreach initiatives to the university's research faculty, staff, and students, including special initiatives
  • Maintain education and training records
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of processes to monitor compliance in assigned area(s), including post-approval monitoring
  • Provide statistical information for reports, documents, and publications, as needed
  • Collect, organize, review, and analyze documentation related to research records and activities in the assigned research compliance area(s) to determine whether proper university, state, and federal requirements are followed
  • Maintain auditable records, including protocols, disclosures, agreements, and sponsor and internal correspondence
  • Participate in trainings and professional development opportunities, as determined by the AVP for Research, Research Compliance
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
  • Ability to comply with university policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
