Job Summary:
This position's primary purpose is to conduct wet and dry lab research in an academic laboratory. The primary focus for this position involves processing and analyzing data related to natural products and microbiome research. Additional duties include assistance with animal behavioral studies, metabolomics, mass spectrometry, manuscript preparation, and grant submission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and analyze datasets from various sources including mass spectrometry, metabolomics microbiome, and animal behavioral studies.
- Prepare data for publication, assist with manuscript writing and submission.
- Prepare samples for and conduct mass spectrometry-based analyses.
- Design and conduct experiments related to the PIs research including microbiome mediated metabolism of natural products such as foods and Cannabis.
- Maintaining detailed notes in OneNote.
- Assisting with general lab operations as required.
Work Location:
Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule and is expected to work onsite approximately 25% of the time to conduct animal studies and sample preparation, for example.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Doctoral degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or a closely related field
- Two (2) years post-doctoral experience working in academia with publication track record to match experience.
- Two (2) years experience conducting animal studies, including behavioral studies and experimental design. Strong experience in study end techniques is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of experience with wet lab skills, including sample preparation and basic molecular biology skills
- Two (2) years' experience in Omics based data analysis, including familiarization with R/Bioconductor.
- Three (3) years post-doctoral experience working in academia with publication track record to match experience.
- Five (5) years' experience conducting animal studies, including behavioral studies and experimental design.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
$58,651 to $70,000
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
